Universal Control Logitech scroll wheel doesn’t work<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If you’re using a Logitech mouse, you might have noticed that the scroll wheel doesn’t work on your iPad or any other connected mac. The release notes say the following: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some third-party keyboards and mice might encounter issues when using additional functionality, like scroll wheels. (88106362)<\/p>https:\/\/developer.apple.com\/documentation\/macos-release-notes\/macos-12_3-release-notes<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

These notes had me thinking I’d be out of luck for a fix. Luckily, the Google fu was strong today and I found a solution. It doesn’t have anything to do with Monterey and everything to do with Logitech Options Daemon. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

How to fix scroll wheel with your Logitech [quick fix]<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

On your Mac that is having the issue, follow these steps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. System Preferences<\/strong>\u00a0\u2192\u00a0Security & Privacy<\/strong>, <\/li>
  2. open the\u00a0Privacy<\/strong>\u00a0tab<\/li>
  3. Under\u00a0Accessibility,<\/strong>\u00a0uncheck “Logi Options Daemon.” <\/li>
  4. Restart your Mac and then scrolling on iPad should work.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
    \"Universal<\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

    Remove Logitech Options completely <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    If you don’t have any button assignments set up or generally don’t need it, it’s best to completely remove it. Follow these steps. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. Go to the\u00a0Applications<\/strong>\u00a0folder \u2192\u00a0Utilities<\/strong>\u00a0and launch\u00a0Logi Options Uninstaller<\/strong>.<\/li>
    2. Click Uninstall<\/li>
    3. Type your administrator password and click OK.<\/li>
    4. Click quit<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      Clean up preferences if you don’t want to save your button configs<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
      1. In Finder, press the\u00a0Command+Shift+G<\/strong>\u00a0key combination \u2192 in the search field enter\u00a0\u00a0~\/Library<\/em>\/Application Support\/\u00a0and hit enter.<\/li>
      2. Move the Logitech folder to the trash<\/li>
      3. Navigate into the Caches folder <\/li>
      4. Move the three com.logitech. folders to the trash<\/li>
      5. Empty the trash<\/li>
      6. Reboot.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
